Youkilis' homer in 13th Pushes Sox past the Cardinals (6/22)

Kevin Youkilis

Final Score: Red Sox 5  Cardinals 3
W: Lopez (2-0)
L:  Parisi  (0-3)

I actually attended this game on Sunday. It was great to see the Sox pull this one off after St. Louis took the first two games in the series. Lester Pitched a great game even though he didn't pick up the win. Their pitching wasn't a concern for me throughout the game as much as their hitting was. They left 21 runners on base and blew 3 straight leadoff doubles in the 10th, 11th and 12th innings. It felt like the Sox couldn't buy hit when it was needed most, until Kevin Youkilis stepped up to the plate and hit a two-run shot off Mike Parisi over the green monster. The Red Sox have won 15 of 22 overall, and 18 of their last 22 at home heading into their series with Arizona.
